This is a five-week service and recreational program intended to expose middle school youth to service work while providing a safe environment to socialize and create fellowship with peers. More than the usual day camp, we strive to enrich their lives through service wile living out their Catholic identity within the community.

We begin each day with morning devotion, then depart for our service projects, have lunch, and finish our day with an afternoon of fun!

The camp is open  to all students who have completed grades 6-8 during the 2007-2008 academic year and meets Thursdays, June 19-July 24, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM.

The cost is $150, which covers the weekly fun activity, camp T-shirt and Valleyfair admission.

Brochures will be mailed to registered parish households with children in the respective age range. They will also available at Pastoral Center, St. Thomas More School. and for download on this website.

Welcome to Our New Youth Minister!

Hi I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to all of you. My name is Kate Buri and I am the youth minister who will be running the Sum-More Service Camp at St. Thomas More this summer.

I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a minor in Women's Studies from the University of St. Thomas in 2001 and began working with troubled youth. It was during this work that m y love for working with teens really developed.

Shortly after graduation I began working as a youth minister and have continued to do so off and on throughout the past six years. During that time, I have planned and implemented a variety of activities and programs in nine parishes throughout the metro community, including here at St. Thomas More.

I am currently a stay-at-home mom with a two year-old son, Jack and another baby on the way, due in September. I am looking forward to my work here and to meeting all of you!

Peace,

Kate Buri
